Melissa Hongkham, LCSW
Melissa is a licensed certified social worker with over a decade of experience in the mental health field working with adolescents, adults, older adults, and their families. She provides culturally affirming, unbiased, and compassionate treatment centered around the client’s unique experience. Melissa’s professional experience includes collaborating with clients to address anxiety, depression, psychosis, complex trauma, PTSD, mood disorders and a host of other concerns. She has experience providing mental health services in residential settings, community-based agencies, and emergency services. Melissa received her Master of Social Work (MSW), Master of Business Administration (MBA) from New Mexico Highlands University and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.
With warmth, empathy and optimism, Melissa strives to create an atmosphere of safety and trust. Melissa believes a positive connection is essential for successful therapy. It is important to build a trusting therapeutic relationship that promotes authenticity, honesty, humor, and personal exploration. Together, with clients, Melissa supports in identifying struggles/barriers and steps in working towards clients’ personal goals. She uses a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness practice, and a trauma informed lens to address a client’s individual needs. Her aim is to provide a space for personal growth, healing, and self-transformation. Melissa welcomes the opportunity to support in achieving emotional growth, obtaining balance, wellness, and happiness.
